TableRappers Book 1 is not even off the starting blocks yet, but just because I needed to get the idea out of my head, I wrote the first draft of the prelude chapter to TableRappers Book 2 yesterday.

Originally written in screenplay format as an introductory scene, I was unable then to give the introduction as much depth as I wished as it would take up far too much time. Novel format, of course, does not suffer from such limitations and so a full-blown, all-out prelude was possible.

As usual I wrote the first draft with trusty pan and Moleskine notebook (a large, lined notebook which holds enough of my scrawl to cover an entire novel first draft - makes things very neat any tidy). Having been wrapped up in re-writing for the past few months, it was very satisfying to get my teeth into something new again.

The main frustration for me is that this book 2 prelude will not see the light of day until Persistent Spirit, as an audio book, is complete and published later in 2008. The prelude is a very strong introduction and setup to the second story, so I will be spending most of the year biting my finger to stop me from just putting it out there!
